All other doors in this class work by using internal tube motors. These are prone to overheating and excessive wear, which limits their lifespan and are difficult to access. Contrast this with the spring assisted smooth action of the Rollmatic. It’s curtain raise/lower operation is based on a static external motor and a chain and sprocket drive. This allows for a much smoother travel. There is a manual version also if auto not required.

If you need to open your roller door during a power failure this is easily done with the quick release, which simply needs pulling to disengage the roller door from the motor and the door can be lifted quickly and with effortlessly. This system is far quicker and easier than other types of roll up garage door which require an embarrassingly slow and awkward winder to gain access.

The biggest failure of other makes of roller doors is the safety edge which stops and reverses the door if it encounters an obstacle. Hormann have removed the need for a safety edge, or photo cells which can go out of line. Their unique gear drive motor system stops the door due to a far more technically reliable safety cut out.
